This is very stange. .gid files exist only in Windows 95 and 98. Here is some more info about them http://support.microsoft.com/d.....s%3b129326

gilbertm.
Welcome to The HTG Forums.
How did you move the files ??
Please provide more info.
What has happened is some critical file extensions have been changed using your method of file transfer.
This was not a normal cut and paste operation.
We have to know how you did it so we can reverse the situation.

gilbertm,

I'm still am having trouble trying to figure out what went wrong unless you were using File Indexing and just deleted the (index files) and NOT the real files. Also old (.gid) files are OK to delete, in most cases, and shouldn't affect the programs which created them.

What kind of files are missing ????

Please be very specific IE: Programs, Data, Pictures, Documents, Etc...

While researching the problem, remembered this site XP and IE7 users might want to book mark.

Please Post Back with requested info on missing files.
