Hi I have just had a person reformat my laptop which is a ASUS Z92 series with xp. He saved 99% of my stuff but I am missing some photo,s of my latest holiday. Anyway of recovering these or are they gone forever.Would really like some help but not to techo as I am a novice with the computer.Have a nice day...

podie, hello. Recuva, as mentioned by Bartman, is a good program. You could also look at PhotoRec, which was designed for file recovery with an emphasis on photos.
Either way, it is best to run these programs before writing to the hard drive with the data. Every write that is made to that hard drive has the potential to overwrite the data that you want. It's best to boot from a CD with one of these tools on it and run the recovery in an environment that is completely independent of the hard drive with the data. You should also save files to another drive, such as a USB flash drive or hard drive. You could run Recuva and/or PhotoRec from the USB drive as well as store the recovered data there.
