file ntldr and ntdetect.com missing when booting on xp

file ntldr and ntdetect.com missing when booting on xp.please can anybody help me how to boot on windows xp.i followed the instructions to install dual operating systems.and in the end the guide tell to copy these 2 files and paste then in to the root disc of xp.i have done this but the same problem.what can i do?where to paste exatly these files?help me please.im waiting for your help.pleeeeeeeeeeease help me and tell me where to put these 2 files?
