I have been using format factory for months. All of a sudden I have been getting an error.

This isn't the only file I ran into this issue with... I tried to rename the file and it does not solve anything. The last time I got this error I was dealing with a , I did a copy to my mormex touch screen player. This is cheating because when I copy a mp4 to it, windows 7 asks if I want to convert the file. Once the file got converted to a wmv, I was able to copy it back to the computer. I figured now I could convert it to the format I wanted. Wrong! I had to open it up in the movie maker and save it. But I still received the same error. The next time I reopened the wmv file and then I added some content to it. Then I saved the file again. Then I reopened that wmv file and removed the added content. Saved it again, then I format factory allowed me to convert it to what I wanted. Do any of you know what this error is really telling me?

Might also want to 'hide' the path at the bottom left of your screenshot.

I had a similar problem. Uninstalled FF with Revo and reinstalled FF. Then it worked.

@whs

I uninstalled it. Rebooted. Installed it. Rebooted. Tried it again, and here is the results. (Are you sure you have yours fixed?) As you can see, it isn't messing up on all of the files I put in. I even tried to re download from youtube just in case I got a bad file.

Links to other forums where people are complaining of the same problem.

Greg, you could try an older version and see if that fixes it : http://www.filehippo.com/download_format_factory/ right hand side older versions.

I see, I haven't tried the latest version as it wouldn't install, some problem with the files it would seem so I went back to the previous version which I still had in my Downloads folder and not seen any problems so far.

That was the only reason why I thought you may like to try the older version.
It could always be that the files you are trying to convert have been compressed and Format Factory cannot function with the compression.

@GuiltySpark

I have never heard of a compressed flv file. And as far as I know mp4's are already compressed.
