Facebook Without Ads? (Disable Ads Now)

After I installed Google Chrome as my browser yesterday, when I open up Facebook, at the very top of my Home page, it says "FACEBOOK WITHOUT ADS? Disable Ads Now". Have any of you encountered this with Google Chrome and did you do it? If so, did it work? I clicked on it to read about it, and it says it'll disable ads on FB and on youtube. I didn't do it yet! I'm hesitant. I want to hear from people that have done it, please, or if you know anyone that did it?

Is Google Chrome really better than IE? It does seem a bit faster but there are some things I don't like about it, having to get used to it. What browser do you'all prefer?

I personally do not use Google Chrome (yuk)

But Tony here has pointed us to http://www.comodo.com/home/bro.....rowser.php that certainly has lesser issues

I do not see what you are seeing on Facebook on my Google Chrome browser. I use it almost exclusively for my every day browsing on all my computers and have not had any of the problems others seem to have had. I also have IE, Firefox and Palemoon readily available and do not mind switching and using multiple browsers at once. But, I have used and like Google Chrome from the first day it came out. It was the first to be able to search directly from the address bar a feature quickly copied to the other browsers. That way no thinking is required about where to type things in at.

Is there anyway to put a screen shot here? If there is, I could show you what I mean about the "FACEBOOK WITHOUT ADS? DISABLE ADS NOW" ad...showing up at the top of my FB home page, every time I go to it. I tried to copy and paste here but that doesn't work.

Ya know the only real thing I don't like about Google Chrome is I can't right click on a website and have a shortcut to my desktop and that is something I do quite often. Don't keep them on my desktop very long but I do save things there to look at in the near future. On Google Chrome it says Save As....when I right click, but then when I open it on the desktop, where I saved it, the website has gone goofy! THAT I don't like!

What is Firefox like? Can you save a website as a shortcut on the desktop?

In Google Chrome simply drag the Favicon to the left of the name in the address bar to the desktop to place an icon there.

Ok, I would never use an add to get an adblocker installed. I understand you are new to chrome. Good choice and much safer for your pc because it runs everything in a so called sandbox. (this means everything you see is in a safe box and can't get out without permission) If you want to block these commercials, your better of looking here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions this is where you can get extensions such as adblockers. I use this one: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom and it works just fine for me. Hardly ever see any adds anywhere on the web.

I suggest you to use this chrome extension . I already installed from a while to block facebook ads.
AdBlock Plus
Chrome also have an extension named IE tab which allows you to work on it like if you was working on the real IE.

I just looked back at the ad blocker advertising on FB. It's called Ad Block Express. Anyone heard of it?

Thanks for tall the advice, gonna look into it a bit later today. :)
