Like soccer, I'm afraid it's a bit of a losing battle.

There will always be diehard, hardcore fans that attend races,
but it's unlikely to catch on with mainstream America. There is
a race in Canada as you know, even a Canadian F1 champion
(or two) but it pales in comparison to even a sport like curling.

So, can we support two races? Maybe one. We need an American
driver and or team for sure.

Quite surprising that list LH, I do remember ten of them but before I saw your list I could only recall five offhand.

Scott, years ago there was some talk about racing F1 & Indy/Champ cars together for one race but nothing came of it.

Would love to have seen it though.

I recognize many of these names but beyond Mario no one had a great career
and certainly no one these last couple of decades amounted to anything.

Saw a documentary recently about Dan Gourney. He fabricated his own parts
stateside, took them to Belgium, assembled the car and won Spa. 'Twas a great story.

Edit- should have looked first. Here's six minutes of it. I do hope it plays over yonder.

I well remember Eddie Cheever in F1, and quite a few of the others from that list in Indy.
