extending a drive immediatly to the LEFT

if my unalocated space is on the far right and in a step by step proceedure on how to extend the drive its stated
in disk management to select the drive immediatly to the LEFT and click to extend it into the unalocated 558MB drive on the right , in my sistuation the drive on the immediatly to the LEFT is not the drive with the low space so what am I doing seeing wrong here if I would rather have the 558 MB drive space on the drive thats low in space it is the E drive.?

Right click the E drive in disk management, and click extend partition, follow the wizard carefully.
