Well hello please I need help, I turned on my computer today and went to have dinner when I came back it was starting up, I thought it was because I had to restart in order to install vista updates and I didn´t do it yesterday, after that I logged on and saw an erro notification from windows saying it had recovered from an error caused because of Kaspersy BUT I DONT EVEN HAVE IT INSTALLED nor have ever had it installed!Since I bought my computer I´ve only had AVG free!

After that I started watching some videos and it gave me a blue screen so quick I couldn´t even read half what it sayd I only noticed it had a 50 at some point, after that it restarted and gave me a black screen saying it had recovered from a bad shutdown and I chose to enter on safe mode with networt, as soon as it loaded it opened up the windows error notification again and tried to find the error I decided to open up howtogeek to post here since I´m seriously puzzled about this and right before I could type my login it gave me the blue screen again so fast all I could see was something about 50 again.

It restarted but this time instead of the Vista Loading screen it showed a text that said ¨The file may be corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum¨ I awaited for 5 minutes and it didn´t move so I restarted and now it won´t give ANY signal (not even the HP blue screen where you are allowed to press F11 and restore the system), my computer is an HP desktop Pavillion e2180, 500gb hard drive, 2GB ram and nVidia 7100 card. Only thing I have installed recently is windows vista updates and a new webcame (after I installed my webcam I restated my computer and got no errors whatsoever)

Help me please I need to know if I can at least save up my files in another hard drive or anything ´cuz all my stuff from university from last 6 months is there (and I´m a graphic designer-to-be so that´s saying a lot).

Thank you beforehand.

Hmm, if you cannot even load the BIOS (blue HP splash screen), it does not look too good. There seems to be a problem with the mobo. Before it gets messed up any further, I would take out the disk, put it into an external enclosure (sells for about $20) and try to recover the data on another computer. The external enclosure attaches via USB to any system and your disk will be regarded like any external disk. Then you can save your files to that computer, another external disk or a big USB flash drive (depending on the size of the files).
Then you can check the mobo. Maybe the CMOS battery is dead, maybe the CMOS needs to be reset - hard to tell from here.
Here are a few examples for Hard Drive Enclosures: http://www.officedepot.com/cat.....+enclosure
