yes i did...when it was booted with CD then i clicked on Repair option and then i clicked on Startup Repair...it ran and after that it was restarted and then i logged in to my Account and checked it but nothing happened.

See if anything comes up in the System Restore option. If it does, can you get a restore point from before the problem started.

Well sir i could have choose System Restore point when i m logged in. Whats the use of that disk as you told me to create the disk and it will recover the bad files and all.

Because I was hoping the Repair option might do it.
I will have a look in the registry. Might take some time.

The best I can offer at the moment is to turn off UAC and then see if you can change those permissions.
You are Administrator ?

WOW ! now i can edit permissions......where is the problem.....thanks dear........as i turned off the UAC

I guess it's just UAC being "over zealous" in it's protection.

I wouldn't even try. If you want to change permissions, then turn UAC off. Then turn it back on when you are finished.
Personally, I have mine off all the time.
