Error opening access control editor
Hello,
I am trying to set permissions on a folder. I go into the properties of
the folder and select the security tab, then I click on advanced, then owner and then Edit. I get an error
"Cannot open access control editor. Invalid value for registry."

Any help would be appreciated, I am a developer and would not like to
re-install Vista to resolve this issue.

BTW OS is Vista x86 Home Premium

Thanks!!!
-Sunny

Recovery and repair are 2 different things. And you don't have to download uTorrent, but it is a much quicker download if you do. And yes.

You wont lose any of your personal data (but, always, we advise you to back it all up first to an external drive).
You download that file, burn it to a CD, and then boot from it, then run a repair.
It only affects system files.

So you can boot the laptop directly from the CD OK ?
Then click on the repair option.
