And the dreaded Vista Blue Screen. I just want to eliminate it once and for all.

What was happening when you encountered this error?

From doing a little research, it usually implies some type of disk / driver problem.

Brand new HP PC. PC will be idle for a few minutes. Then it will go the the blue screen. Stating a problem has been detected. This has happened at least a dozen times.
It seems to be a problem with Vista users.

From doing a quick search, it appears to be a known bug. People seem to be seeing the error in relation to sleep or hibernation. There are some helpful suggestions on how to troubleshoot Vista sleep issues here:

There are also sites that mention problems with drivers. Check to make sure you have the right hard drive drivers.

You could try also disabling all power management and see if that helps out.

Also, you might want to install the reliability updates mentioned here, as they seem to cover a lot of issues with blue screening:
