Sure 7 is fast - if you take out everything people might want to use (Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker etc) things will be fast.
Speed is nice, but functionality has it's benefits too, you know <LOL LOL LOL>.

Besides why this rant about Vista being slow?
That's only if installed on a machine that hasn't the specs to run it.
And that goes for any OS - you need the proper equipment.

I never had any problems with Vista being slow.
And for me 7 certainly wasn't any faster, apart from shutting down.
Well, I only do that once a day and I won't stick around to wait for it,
so that's not much use anyway.

What is this "DreamScene"?? I don't know since I've never used it. Not even described in the link you gave above...

Animated desktop background - that is: instead of an background picture you can use a video.

And I'll admit - it's pretty useless, unless you use it instead of a screensaver, but it is FUN!

When you have them chasing the cursor, it's not long before you start saying "go away, go away" :)

LOL - I have a desktop wallpaper with (yeah, what else ... ) my dogs on it. So I made a little animation where once every 3 minutes one of the dogs winks.
Have that running most of the time.
A friend came over and she started playing around on my pc (not something I'm very fond of ...) and after a while she started to freak out.
She could swear the dogs were looking at her - they MOVED !!!

I never explained, but she left my pc well alone after that <LOL>.
