trying to speed up the usb to 2.o but the latest bios update i can find is the 2003 1.2 update any sugestions would be great...

Turnsolf,

Your socket 423 p4vxas motherboard has a VIA Apollo P4X266 chipset which includes a VT8753 Northbridge and VT8233 Southbridge. Don't believe that MB supports anything but USB 1.1. Where did you get info that USB speed could be upgraded with a Bios update ? The hardware is Pre-USB 2.0 standards implementation.

didnt know just a shot in the dark, a hope and a prayer lol gona try a card and see how that goes

Thanks for reply. A card will allow you on the 100 / 133 PCI Bus HOWEVER suggest looking for a newer inexpensive motherboard. All hardware standards have long changed since you purchased your board (circa 2000).

thanks rick, im in the prosses of looking for a new mb this is just a quick fix for daughters comp. i was hoping to fix it for awile.
