Hi, I am running windows 8 on a 32 bit machine. When I installed it I lost access to my DVD drive. It seems this a common problem. I have tried a few things including checking the devices settings etc etc but don't know how to get it back. The drive is a lightscribe.
I had the same issue with my new computer but the driver disc seemed to boot itself and fix the problem. I tried the same driver disc in the lightscribe just to see if I could get the boot and nothing happened.
Does this sound like a problem you could fix?

I didn't have a DVD/CD-ROM drive option in Device Manager. I have since added a "firewire" with build-in software and it is appearing as a DVD/CD-ROM device. But there is still no DVD/CD-ROM appearing under the Devices with Removable Storage list under "Computer" and I still cant use an auto-boot disc any other from the DVD/CD-ROM drive.
