I have a Plextor PX-850SA Dvd/Cd drive and whenever I try to rip music from cd's to my computer, it says error and can not rip. The other problem is that when it reads music from the cd's, it says it can't read sometimes. I also have enabled error correction and the problem is still there. Is there any way to fix this?

computernerd, what error message are you getting? What program are you using to rip/play with? Matt

Assuming that your drive is not broken (which unfortunately seems to happen relatively frequently), there may be a driver problem. I would uninstall the driver in Device Manager and reboot (which should reinstall a new driver).

computernerd, you could try Express Rip and see if you still have a problem with ripping. How old is your Plextor drive, do you have the latest drivers? Matt

My drive is only about 5 days new so I don't know if there is a problem with it.

I have tried express rip and cd ripper and they both don't work. I got around this problem by installing my older cd drive from my old computer.
