OK, so apparently my graphics card can handle 2 monitors and I got a VGA splitter and connected both my monitors and now I can see the same sreen in both monitors and they're both identifyed as "monitor 1", the one that is actually being described in monitor 1 is "HP w1e Wide LCD monitor on nVidia GeForce 7100/NVIDIA nForce 630i" while description on monitor 2 is "(Default Monitor) on nVidia GeForce 7100/NVIDIA nForce 630i"
Am I doing something wrong? do I need to donwload any sotware? do I need another graphics card? I know it is recommendable but a friend told me that this graphics card can handle 2 screens, only problem is that 1 screen is not getting recognized as an alternate screen, besides it has a female VGA connection and a female DVI-D connection so I think it should be able to put up with 2 monitors; only thing is that I have connected both monitors into the same VGA entry with a splitter.

Any help?
Thanks beforehand =)

_______________
Edit: Both monitors are different brands, one is an HP w017e LCD and the other one is a AOC CRT monitor, every time I restart I get either one or the other recognized and the other monitor that is not getting recognized gets the resolution of the 1st, when I click on "Identify monitors"they both show up 1 on the screen what I need is to be able to use them as two different desktops, how can i do that?

What is the make and model number of your graphics card? Also does the card only have a VGA port or does it also have other ports like DVI and S-Video?

It is an nVidia GeForce 7100/nForce 360i. And it has a VGA and a DVI-D port, no Svideo (or not as far as my eyes go, i have to make funny poses in order to get to see the back of my computer lol)

My guess would be if that is a dual head graphics card (Not sure that a computer would come with one but it could be) then to get different pictures on each display you need to plug 1 display into the VGA port and the other into the DVI port.
I haven't heard of a graphics card that could do different pictures with the same VGA port.
The LCD monitor should have a DVI output and if it doesn't you can get an adapter to make the DVI input on the graphics card use VGA.
