Dual Boot Your Pre-Installed Windows 7 Computer with XP

I recently partitioned by new Win 7 cdomputer as per the instructions in the above mentioned Geek article. Everything went OK and now i have a new partition on my hard drive of 40Gig. However when I try to install XP Professional in that partition my XP Pro install disk does not "see" the new partition and wants to install in the same partition (:C:\") as Windows 7 . Windows explorer sees the new partition witrhn no problem. Any suggestions?

Procdessor AMD LE 1300
Chipset: Nvidia nForce MCP 61
Links to Drivers for XP should be installed with Setup CD.
Motherboard Pegptron (Mfg) M2N68, HP COMPAQ NARRA5-GL6, SOCKET AM2+
