Downloading windows 7 from computer to another

I bought a nice little Acer 5515 from a complete stranger- Weird thing is that it's an inexpensive laptop but it has windows 7 ultimate
running it..Is it possible to download this to another computer? No, don't know much about how this all works..Thanks for any help

More than likely not. Once installed, it is 'specialized' for that particular environment and h/w. Copying the hard drive to another system would make it running problematic. I guess one could try, the degree of difficulty would vary by system and if you had another working internet connected system you just might be able to accomplish what you want. It would take a level of skill to do this though.

If you got the DVD/CD's with the system, then if they were not OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) but real copies of W7, then you could use them to install to a new system. If OEM, they'd probably not work on an non-Acer computer.

You mention "download"? What did you anticipate you'd need to do?

Ispalten: some people use the word 'download' when they mean 'upload' or 'transfer' :)
