i am new to the computer world, yet learning more and more. I had a dvd made of my family movies by another company. i want t download to my comp so i can cut clips and make my own movie/pic.Well of course i cannot??
How can this be copyrighted it is myyyyyyyyyyyyyy family pictures? So how do i go about downloading to my comp.

Well First off Welcome, both to computing and to these forums.
What company made the DVD? Maybe someone has done business with them and can be more helpful.
Have you tried simply copying the files from the DVD and pasting them on the harddrive? Does it it give you an error or or other message?
By "installed the video" I'll assume you mean "inserted the DVD." With the DVD in the computer, click on "My Computer" and then there will be an icon representing your DVD (I don't know what it will look like but it should have a name as an indication.) Double click on it and see what is in there. Post back with what you see.
