Display screwed up in certain Windows games

My girlfriend's parents are old and don't know how to work computers, so there were a ton of problems with their Vista installation. I installed Windows 7 RC1 since it's better, and works just about the same as Vista so they wouldn't be confused or something...

The only thing that her mom does on there is play some of the games like Solitaire. But, just recently the display in a few of those games has gone all weirdo. It happens in only Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, and Freecell (which happen to be the only ones she plays). What is going on here? Sorry for the huge image

I don't have any games on my machine. Can you post a screenshot of what it should look like (from another computer).

From Vista but it's the same thing

Check the color scheme setting.

Edit. In the Start search box type,
control color

that will bring the color scheme settings up.

If it was a color problem like that, why would it be in only those three games? Other games like Minesweeper look fine

I don't know about these games in particular, but often in the games I play a corrupt save or config file will mess things up. I'd suggest removing them temporarily to remove culpability.

Edit:Of course, that may not be so easy in this case.
