my disk clean up wont work it wont open to do the clean up it contenus for hours with only 2 green bars i cansel but the fan still runs until i turn off the comp and back on agin can any one help me with my problem dragon

Let me guess. When the progress bar stops with 2 green bars, at the bottom it says "scanning: compress old files". This operation takes a long time, and the progress bar never moves while it is calculating space to be saved by compressing old files. Still, it shouldn't take hours. How big is this drive?

Did you try running Check Disk before the cleanup? It's in the drive property window, Tools tab, "Check now" button.
