I use online rogers protection as my antivirus, and I recently got borderlands, when I try to connect to online games it always times out. I later figured out that my firewall was blocking port 16000. Is there anyway using rogers online protection to disable the firewall blocking port 16000? Thanks

disable firewall blocking port 16000 on the router
(9 posts)Hi computernerd, I had never heard of Rogers Online Protection (ROP) before so I had a little look around. From what I have seen so far (have a look here ), it does not seem to be the best of options. There are plenty of other free anti-virus/firewall programs out there that you could try. Even Microsoft Security Essentials with the Vista firewall is more than ample if set up right. All firewalls should have options to configure ports to open, I can´t test ROP for you as I am using Win 7 and it´s not supported. Are you also behind a router? If so which make and model, sometimes routers have built-in firewalls that also need configuring. Matt
