Digital Picture Date !

Nevertheless, seems to me, that you first have to be able to extract the date from the XMP metadata. There are some utilities like that one around: http://www.exiv2.org/ Once you have the data, it should not be too difficult to get it into the picture. Depends what level of "Automation" you are looking for.
If using windows, you can download a great freeware application Faststone Image Viewer. One of the capabilities is ability to place the picture date onto the picture file; you can then print it.
