I followed all the instructions for a snapshot of my desktop icons.
They get scranbled when I play certain games.
Everything went smoothly till I hit this wall:

Now when you right-click on the Computer entry in the start menu, you’ll see two new items for “Save Desktop Icon Layout” and “Restore Desktop Icon Layout”. Arrange your icons the way you’d like them, and then click the Save layout menu item.

"Start menu"? I have a start menu, but it does not have "computer" on it.
When I click on Computer in manager or screen, there is no opportunity to save the icon layout.

Did I explain it right?
Please help.

Hi bethofspring,

Welcome to HTG :)
Could you post the link where you found these instructions?

Edit: Did you mean this article?

Second edit: if so, here are some tips ;)

First: did you reboot the computer?

Secondly: you might have disabled the computerlink in your startmenu.
It is easy to enable it again.

If it is not there, rightclick on the startmenu orb and select 'Properties', then 'Customize'.

And now the first item displayed is 'Computer'. I guess you have 'Don't display this item' checked. It must be set to 'Display as a link'.

You might have to reboot for the new menu you added to appear.

Let me know if this works for you ;)

I see it there.
HOWEVER, I use the Classic Start Menu.
How do I add "Computer" on it?
I know how to customize and add applications, but is the Computer the one from My Computer?
Or Computer in Windows Explorer?

Hmm, I don't know if this works in Classic Start Menu. Someone else might know, so hang on a bit ;)

I think the Classic Start Menu has the same thing SarahJames it talking about but it's in the Advanced tab.
