That's totally different than my Compaq Presario. If I recall my recovery didn't take that long. What disks did it show under the hard disk drives when you went to "my computer"?

The usual doesn't apply to every machine. On mine it says Presario(C:)and Presario RP (D:).The C drive is where all my stuff is,wheras the D drive is my recovery partition.Do you have a recovery disc,?you should have if you bought it new.Be even better if you had a full version of Win XP.

i didnt get a recovery disc with my computer and i didnt get a version of windows XP on a disc. im just gonna let it run because before it went into this "mode" it told me not to manually shut down the computer. im just gonna wait it out and see what happens. if any1 knows what is taking DRMk version 8 so long to load someone just post.

Just be patient and see what happens,jd posted earlier with the Dell website. That may be your best bet,and while your there, let Dell know that you need that recovery disk.

will do, it seems like my DRMK problem will not be fixed without a cd of some kind.

I wish I could help you more,I've only worked on a Dell machine once and the owner had all the cd's,including XP.And I do agree about their customer service, very frustrating experience. If you were able to borrow an XP disc from someone, that would make your situation easier.
