(Solved) - dell 2400 desktop screen wont turn on

ok i moved my dell 2400 upstairs it had a flat panel screen i put a monitor on it.instead,,i liked the flat screen better. kept it down stairs ..it fired up and worked but when i shut it down ,then went to reboot it the screen would not turn on..there are no beeps or any sounds screen turns on then clicks to yellow light.i did see new hardware found ...but moitor was working..could it have been shut off threw the key board? or not a possibilty.. im sure the driver has malfunctioned or something but how can i put a driverback on it if i cant see anything on a screen i did not run the new hardware wizard was that a mistake? lol ..any help greatly appreciated

try pressing f8 as it tries to boots.

I suggest you put your flat screen back on, install the device driver for your upstairs screen and attach that then. Without a device driver in your system your upstairs screen (which sounds like a CRT) will not work.

SOLVED--Ive solved the problem. It is working fine now..ok maybe for someones future reference..what i did to resolve the issue was pull the ram out i have two. i wanted to make sure it had sound. and pulling the cards makes it beep which it did so knew the sound was working..i then reinstalled the ram and turned it on and the mointor is working fine..would have never thought that would have fixed it..lol but it did thanks all..steve
