Delete task without deleting email

I have no idea how it happened, but two emails that I received were converted into tasks. I would like to delete the task, but not the email. When I try to do it from the task list, a message pops up saying that the email message will also be deleted. Is there any way to accomplish this? Any idea why two incoming emails were converted to tasks without me doing anything? Outlook 2007.

i can't find a way to convert the task back to an email. The best thing to do would be to send yourself a copy of the email.

Sending the message to myself was the trick. Took a second, and I was then able to delete the task and the original email. Many thanks.
