hi, I can't delete any .eps files on windows xp. I have sent them to recycle bin but cannot delete them. when I try to empty the bin I get: cannot delete DC215 being used by another person or program. I have restarted, there is no adobe bridge or anything else running that could be using them. have googled this and I see lots of people asking the question but no answers.

any advice appreciated,
dave.

This program can help you out, but if windows is trying hard not let you get rid of the files, proceed with caution. (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/)

doesn't seem to work- nothing is 'locking' the files apparently but they still can't be removed.
thanks for your input though.

When it says that nothing is locking it, it gives you some options. Did you try selecting "delete"?

djsc,
TAKING FROM ANOTHER SOURCE: - NOT MY IDEA
===========================
"another trick is to do the Ctrl+Alt+Del and then go into processes. Find the explorer service and close that process. The desktop will close out and you won't see any icons. The task manager window will still be open so at the top of that window click on the "file" menu and select "run" option. Then just type "explorer" (without quotes) when the box pops up. It will restart your desktop and you should be able to delete the file."
===========================
YOU HAVE TO DETERMINE WHICH PROCESS IS CAUSING THE ISSUE.
Kindest Regards,
