Somewhere I've seen a description of how to delay a program at startup, but I forgot where.
My shelltools from Moon Software won't appear in the systemtray if erunt kicks in before the shelltools are all started up. So now I'd like to delay erunt a bit - like 20 seconds.
How do I do that?

delaying a program at startup
(14 posts)@ whs - Tried WinPatrol, but that's not really my cup a tea. Just another app to clutter my systray:(
@ Scott - Erunt runs at startup and creates a backup, then closes again. I'd like it to wait 20 seconds.
I don't know if that falls into the category 'program' or 'service' ...
And is it just me or did the font of this site just get a whole lot bigger?
I have no problem if you want to make your life difficult. You probably have not even read the documentation to understand what the program does/can do and why it is sitting in the notification area. Btw. It's easy to get it out of there if you delete it from the start-ups. But then you don't get the protection. But we all live in free countries and can do as we please.
Well, whs, my life isn't difficult, thanks for the concern ...
I don't think it is wise to install a program with a ton of features I don't use just because I would like óne single shortcut to be delayed for a couple of seconds. There are easier ways of getting things done on a computer than installing multifunctional programs for every tiny little thing you want to get done and end up with several programs that do exactly the same. They are bound to get into trouble at some point because something was changed in one program and the other didn't have it changed and gets upset when things get changed behind it's back.
And you have a habit of claiming we all live in free countries and can do as we please, but you make it sound like you wish we weren't.
This is the internet, not all people that do have access to a computer actually do live in a free country. Please keep that in mind.
And what do you get so upset about, whether I do or don't install a certain program?
I appreciate getting advice, but that doesn't mean I'm obliged to take it.
And I don't appreciate getting flamed every time I don't take your advice or have a different point of view.
Goodnight,
Sarah.
Sorry you see it that way. There was no intent to "flame" you. I just was not sure whether you had a chance to study the other benefits of the program. But since we do not seem to be compatible, I think it will be best if you do your thing and I do mine. No hard feelings, whs
