I set up a scheduled time for the automatic defrag. Once I click okay and go back to defrag, the date of defrag is never. Why does this happen?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939039 Read this. It is setup to defrag by default. Why do you want to change the schedule?

My guesses as follows.

After setting the new date it had not been run yet.

The computer was not on or was in hibernate at the designated time.

A file cleanup utility was run and the log of previous defragmentations was wiped.
