defrag - how much time?

Hi, I'm first time posting.

I just wonder if it is possible to defrag the (C) drive for already more than 10 hrs?? It's not finished yet. I do disc fragmentation usually every 8 to 14 days.
I'm unsure wheather to stop it or not.
Your advise is very much appreciated.

+1 to Defraggler and make sure you're offline when you do it as you may get delays from new temp files being added.

A screensaver also sets you back to the beginning time after time, so disable those and any other programs that are running, like messenger, browser, rainlendar etc.

Plus empty the recycle bin and delete all temp Internet files

This will speed up the defrag

Thanks so much for your suggestions.
I have Bitdefender and they delete all temp files before I run defragging. No programs are running when I use Bitdefender; my recycle bin is not very full,
but I will sort through it :) I will make sure to be offline.
An error message came up this morning from Bitdefender when running a full system scan and they analyse it now.
