Bear with me....

So....is there anyway to just use plain ol' Hotmail as my default email on windows 7? I downloaded Windows Live Mail and set it as the default. The only thing I don't like about that is that now when I have messenger on and click on the mail link it asks me to sign into Windows Live mail. Even though I'm already signed into messenger. It used to just open hotmail in a new window when I clicked on the mail button on messenger.

Well, I'm sure that was confusing, so I'm sorry. Basically what I want to know is if it's possible to just use hotmail as my default like I did in XP and Vista

It is possible to allow Windows Live Mail to sign in automatically.

Go to 'options'

and then make sure 'Automatically log on to Windows Live Messenger' is ticked.

When you have that ticked it immediately opens the email message when you click the email link :)
