0z,
Not sure this is correct because I can't find the screws on a Dell 22 inch larger model.

LH told me one time that the screens are snap-locked together.
Don't know.

i read this one earlier before i posted and it seemed like the closes answer. i don't want to damage the monitor because i'm suppose to be returning it. i do have the 4 screws in back but the prying on plastic i'm not to sure of. if i can clean it i might just keep it and add it to my new build. which by the way looks great in my new box with the 2 blue led fans in front.

0z,

I know what you mean.

I need to get dust?? shadows off the the back light but have always been scared to pry the plastic apart because of what LH told me.
The the larger good spec flat screens are still too expensive for me to replace.
Guess the the decision will be up to you.

Those nice looking fans I assume are pushing air across the HDs which is a good thing.

i got it, i pried it to unsnap with a pocket knife. no dings! i just hooked it up to the computer. now i need to open a thread in linux to see if theres support in ubuntu for dual screens. or maybe i could just leave the question in here.
the box came with a top 140mm fan and a rear 120mm fan, i added the side and 2 front. the only reason i have a little cash lately is i quit smoking. it's unbelievable how much money that cost.

0zSpitt,

That's great the screen came apart. When I get my nerve up, I'll try it.

Now you have equalized the case air flow.

Bet you feel better also besides having more cash.
I had the habit for years before quiting.

i had my own way of quitting, it worked quite well. my heart stopped :P
here is my fan setup, the top and rear exhausts, i set them at medium speed. the side and two front are intake and they're set at low. there's also a cpu fan. i might install windows on this to get everything to work. i also have a sound blaster card i'd like to put in. possibly xp sp3. even though i'm a vista fanboi

Oz,
My bother-in-law quit because of the same problem.
Tobacco is probably the worst drug folks have come upon.
========================================
The fans should have some CFM ratings on them.
Don't forget the PS fans which I assume is inverted.
You know HVAC so just balance the case CFM input and output.
Never have cared much for a side fan blowing (against) the CPU fan.
The old flow from front to rear cases were pretty easy to balance.

Just install the O/S you like using.
