Good day, I formatted my hard drive, installed xp then Vista. Now I need to do a repair on XP. Will doing a repair on XP mess up my daul boot? When booting into XP I go to system properties, startup and recovery tab and enable "time to display list of operating systems". I have XP to run two old programs that I use, that I could not afford to upgrade. Thanks, Rudy.

RudyJ,

Ensure you boot to XP before doing Repair.

If you are doing a Clean Install of XP, post back because the Vista BCD may have to be repaired also.

Regards,
Rick P.

The repair may reinstall the Windows XP boot loader as the default preventing booting into Vista. You can fix this by using VistaBootPro or Startup Repair on a Vista disc if it happens.
