Never thought there was.
But what is different in basic, that this doesn't show up?

So you can't even get to "Microsoft > Windows > Current Version"? We must be the "deprived users".

mpc, Let's not give up. Now I want to get to the bottom of this. Funny, it did not bother me before, but now it does.

@mpc104: Can you post a Screen Shot of how regedit looks to you? That might be helpful to figure out what is happening?

@jd, any thoughts on my screenshot?
@mpc, Once you have the registry down to where you want to post, do this: You should have a "prt.sc." key on the right top of your screen. This you ususally have to push together with "Fn" on the left bottom of the keyboard. Then do "Save as" and give it a name > Save. Then you'll find it in "Pictures".
To post it I recommend to register in Photobucket http://photobucket.com/. Then you can upload the picture. Left click on the bottom option once the picture is uploaded and then paste that into the posting. In the reply box it will look like a link, but once you post, it will show the picture.

@whs: I'm not sure what is happening in that screen shot. I just looked at the registry and found that key just fine.

@mpc104: Is this the steps you are doing:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
 Software
  Classes
   Local Settings
    Software
     Microsoft
      Windows
       CurrentVersion
         TrayNotify

And it stops at CurrentVersion?

@whs. Are you running Home Basic on all of your machines?

No Lighthouse, they are all Premium.

@mpc, if you get stuck on Photobucket, let me know. I post more detailed instructions.
