Cursor focus, first keystroke going missing in browsers

Seems that in both IE10 and FF (Win 8 Pro on desktop) I am having this issue: When I click on a field with the mouse and begin to type the first letter does not get registered. So this concerns the first bit of data in any field in either browser. Seems to happen more often these days. Has anyone seen this? Thought I would ask before exploring new keyboards, etc.

I've been getting the same thing in IE9. Very annoying.

Would a M$ SNAFU (more like FUBAR) cause it to happen in FireFox?

Since it happens in both, I was thinking it had to be either hardware-related or Win8. So we know it is occurring in Win8 with IE9 and IE10. It would be a strange coincidence if a correlated yet highly similar issue with FF just developed.

@Vistamike: I was asking if others were seeing this problem and Ish2013 replied, I don't think we need another thread in this regard. Wouldn't it be more efficient if we just had one discussion?

The problem may be very different and on different machines. Answering 2 people at the same time can get confusing.

@LadyFitzgerald I have not seen this problem again, perhaps it has been patched? Are you still trying Win8?
