I have and like Vista Home Premium SP2 - however I am curious about Linux. I do not want to partition
anything (although I do have a 'dual-core' processor). Is 'wubi' a good way to run Umbuntu - without
installing it??
Before I heard of 'wubi' - I purchased a Fedora CD and a Madriva CD. If I would insert either of these
CD's - could I run Fedora/Madriva directly from the CD - without actually installing it?

Wubi installs like a program. That would work. Your CD's may or may not work depending on what they are. If they are installation CD's, you better leave them alone. Here is a Fedora on a stick that may be an option: http://lifehacker.com/391067/f.....-usb-drive - You have to understand though, that you keep nothing of your session. With each load, you start at square1.

I concur.

Wubi would be the best way to test it out. It installs just like a prgoram, doesn't partition the hard drive, and doesn't destory your master boot loader.

If I am correct, it temporarily (as long as you have it installed) writes over your master boot loader and allows you to boot into Linux when you start your computer.

Thank you both. I will try WUBI. WHS - thanks for the website. I knew I could count on you all.
