Whenever I try to go on Windows Explorer to look at my files, I get a critical error pop-up that says:
"Attention! Some dangerous viruses detected in your system. Microsoft Windows XP files corrupted. This may lead to the destruction of important files in C:\WINDOWS. Download protection software now!
Click OK to download the antispyware. (Recommended)"

Every time I go into my folders I get that. And when I click "No" instead of "Yes", it still opens up my current browser and directs me to (link removed by mod)

I downloaded Spyware Doctor, but it didn't detect it. I searched it up on google as IE Antivirus but when I tried to remove it manually, none of the files were there in the first place.

Try and scan using Spybot search & destroy. Here is the link - http://dl.betanews.com/spybotsd160.exe

The SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition didn't work. :(
I scanned it and it got rid of other adware, and it said that I had to reboot it to finish the scan, so I did.
But when I went to check my folder after the reboot, the pop-up came again.

Did you run the update straight after you installed it?

It looks like you have a very serious infection. Can you go back to a restore point (from before the problem started)?

I'm afraid you will have to wait for an XP geek to come along to guide you through it. I looked on a French XP machine, and couldn't find it :(

Forgot that this was XP. Deleted the post that would have worked on Vista - sorry.

Oh! I searched up restore points. I have some that are automatically created. I tried to restore it from the 16th, but when it restarted, it said it couldn't be restored.

AngelArlia. You were, linked to/visiting, a French site, when you picked up that virus?

It's gone! I ran that SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition again and there was only one infection and it was unchecked and I checked it and rebooted and now it's removed.
Thanks for all your help!

Oh good. :) I thought it probably would work. French sites are the worst in the world for viruses. I know, I live here :)
