creating high rez .ico's for free in vista? Possible?

If anyone has anyway to create .ico's that aren't pixelated please share. Trust me I have been up and down google and most every other search engine looking for free trials and the like. Found quite a few but none that can create, clear, unpixelated, images. It must be possible because the icons on your desktop aren't pixelated. =/

You can try IcoFx but without more information on what you want to do I'm not sure if it will help.

Yeah, IcoFX is brilliant. I use the GIMP for image editing and then IcoFX to convert them into full 256x256 icons.

I create the files in Photoshop (feel free to use whichever program you like)
Then convert them to .ico using this website - free, no install, generally really good! http://www.convertico.com/
