I just re-installed Office XP Professional. I am unable to create a shortcut when I right-click a program (e.g. Word) in the List of Programs from the Start Menu.
When I right click the item, the system freezes as soon as I highlight the "Send to" line. I have to force close the system and re-boot to recover.
Any suggestions?

Try this: open C: in Computer, go to "program Files", find and open the program folder there, right click on the .exe and create the shortcut from there. Maybe that works - maybe!

No, that doesn't work either.
I assume that the problem is in my Windows Explorer program.
Can I re-install it? If so, how do I do it?

Unfortunately not. Explorer is part of the system. Try to run SFC /SCANNOW from elevated Command Prompt. Maybe it can fix it.

Dell Diagnostics found a problem in my hard drive and I have replaced it under their warranty.
However, I then had to re-install Windows and all of my other programs.
So my system is back to normal again.
