I reguarly find that the mouse on Windows Aero (and most others) turns practically invisable when typing in word etc. I've gone to mouse in control panel and turned on mouse shadow, and unticked 'hide mouse pointer when typing'... what I really need is to know how to make my own mouse pointers. I'd use my own images etc.

Just to make sure. Have you checked out all the different mouse pointer options in Vista ?

Here's one tutorial, http://livedocs.adobe.com/flas.....00961.html

And the one I use (but didn't make myself, of course):

yeah, i checked the others, most of the time the hover-over-text "Capital I" looking pointer wasn't any better than the one on Windows Aero, or it was completely replaced by something silly like a dinosaur.

I'll check out the tutorial and see if it can help.

... oh, thanks :)

waiting for this new link to load now (taking ages, lol)

I do have Macromedia Flash MX 2004 on an installation somewhere, although I'm sure I had trouble with Flash the last time I tried to install it, since Adobe now own Macromedia and it's now the "Adobe" Flash Player that's integrated with web browsers.

the new link to adobe's site just seems to have an image for macromedia flash on it, no kind of actual content. or is my internet just screwing up and not loading the page fully>

I see some movement within the flash 'box'. Your original question is beyond the scope of my understanding, I've never made a cursor and was just trying to point ;) you in the right direction.
