Hi

I recently built a gaming PC with 3 fans for cooling - one 120mm at the front, one 120mm at the back, and one 120mm fan blowing over a Scythe Ninja.

The problem is, my mobo (Asus M3N78-EMH HFMI) only has one 3-pin fan connector. This leads to two problems:
1. I can only have one fan running (naturally I hooked up the CPU cooler).
2. I get a boot error - No CPU fan detected!

Is there a way of getting a 3-pin 120mm fan running off a 4-pin CPU fan mobo connector?
I could live with 2 out of 3 fans.

Thanks in advance for your help

Parsnip,
Thanks.
I downloaded the manual and looked at the motherboard diagram.
It has a (1) CPU Fan Connector and (1) Chassis Fan Connector.
Unusual as Asus boards normally have three or four board fan connectors.
You will have to use PSU short combo fan connectors or splice into the cabling to run extra fans.
I have to use splices all over the place for (5)-(6) fans.
Will post a link to fan connectors.

All you really have to do is splice into a PSU 12 volt cable leg to run extra fans at max speed.

Thanks, going offline now but I'll check back later and buy the connector you recommend.
Thanks for checking.
