Here's a pic :
I'd like to be able to copy the text from this message box and paste it into eg Notepad.
Is this possible???
I don't think you can copy the text. But you can take a snip and store it as a picture.
I'm not sure if it will work for that dialog but there an article at http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....clipboard/ on copying text for error messages that may work.
jd2066 it only seems to work for certain error messages. Ones with just an OK button work, but others with Abort/Retry/Ignore buttons don't, the clipboard remains empty.
Maybe I could go sniffing in memory somewhere?
might be a stupid question, but if that's the only text from a windows box that you need, can't u just type it?
Never mind, I got everything fixed now.
Just wondering, what was the issue you were having and how did you fix it?
The problem was reading an error message in a foreign language. ;)
Did some Zen-thinking I guess :), didn't need the exact error message anymore.
Do I gather that you wanted to pass the message thru some translation program and that the writing was not in roman letters?
that would make a lot of sense
That I wanted to do yes.
