Hi all!
I've got a bit of a problem. I have a PC running Vista Business on one machine. I've opened up as many sharing parameters as I could find but my laptop running XP Pro still will not enable me to show the contents of the Documents folder on the Vista machine. I get this error...
\\Vista machine\peter is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied.
Can anyone help me out here? I'm a bit new to this Vista.
thanks and God bless,
Pete

Sounds like Vista is not letting you view the files because of permission issues.

The easiest way I know to circumvent this problem is contained in this article here at the How-To Geek on taking ownership:

Add Take Ownership to Explorer Right Click Menu in Vista

Pete, hello! I recommend the following TechNet article to all new Vista users who are networking Vista with XP. It helped me when I was a Vista newbie.
