Connecting Laptop with my Office PC...

Hi

I want to connect my Laptop to my PC to transfer large amount of data what is residing on either machine. Can I do it with simple USB connecting cable which come with External HDD.

Hmm. If you try networking the 2 PC's using an ethernet cable, and then create a sharing folder which can be viewed by both PC's you can drag the files from the laptop into the folder, then from the folder onto desktop and finally delete the files from the sharing folder.

You can buy very simple sync software for 20 from Allways Sync that is far superior to Laplink. They have a portable verzion you can put on a USB stick drive. I use it between my laptop and server, server and USB for about 5gigs of data.

You can't use the cable that came with your External HD, but you can buy a fairly cheap usb transfer cable. It will specifically say 'transfer.'
