Connecting laptop to cable box

Can I connect the laptop to the cable box to watch TV on the laptop?

My laptop has a HDMI connector. Can I plug it into the cable box HDMI and watch TV on my laptop? If yes, Do I need special software to display the image on my laptop?

I have Windows 7/64 and Windows Media Center Is that enough to watch TV?

Any other options?

Your laptop should have a TV tuner card to watch TV with Windows Media Center.
