using a dell dimension C521 running vista home premium and a Samsung Series 4 450 plasma tv. i have a monitor connected to the dvi out put and the tv connected to the regular monitor output(which i assume is the onboard video an the dvi connection is a separate video card.) i've tried enable monitor 2 in display settings but it is disabled whenever i hit apply. is there a way to just switch displays, like on laptop or something?

Edit::
Using a dell laptop i got it working just by hitting fn+f8, how do i get it going on the desktop?

On my Dell inspiron 531 system you set the output in the BIOS but a VGA card overrides the on board every time. I use a cheap video card (Geforce 8600) with dual outputs, works great.

it looks like the onboard graphics arent showing up in display properties, so i guess we'll just get a dvi to hdmi cable and split the output form the standalone card. I think i answered my own question, thanks anyway.
