Same thing happens in safe mode. The hard disk light and cpu usage spike every 4 seconds. If I try to run more than 1 window at a time, I get a blue screen. Avast internet security is unable to update virus definitions. Toshiba laptop. Help will be very much appreciated, I have no idea where to go from here! :(

Start with doing this from a different computer : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....fected-pc/
Boot from the disc and update and run a full scan.
