At the windows xp login screen, if you press Windows key+U you get some utilities such as narrator and on screen keyboard. I was wonding if you replaced the command prompt (CMD.exe) and renamed it OSKB.exe (on screen keyboard), would that let me use the command prompt threw the on screen keyboard at the login screen? I just would like to know because my dad changes my login password alot so I would just like to know so I can change it threw the command prompt.

Just wondering, why would your dad be changing your password a lot?

Do you just want to use the computer before doing your homework then? Or something else?

Ok, that makes since. I have no idea what would happen if you did that.
I'll try doing that in a Virtual Machine to see what happens but I would recommend just attempting to convince your Dad to not change your password. If that happened it would be better then the risk of your Dad catching you use the computer without him logging you in first.

Edit: Ok. I just tried it in a Virtual Machine. First off if you replace any system files then "System File Protection" will replace the file within 10 seconds. If you first delete the file copy in C:\Windows\System32\dllcache then it will not be replaced. I then copied cmd.exe to osk.exe and when I went to the logon screen starting the program will the Utility Manager from WinKey+U the command prompt ran in the background and did not appear on the logon screen.
I also tried replacing utilman.exe (Utility Manager) and the same thing happened when I pressed Winkey+U.
I tried copying notepad.exe as utilman.exe to see if it was a problem with cmd.exe but it still did the same thing.
I know it was running in the background as when I logged in and opened Task Manager the process it was listed.
It appears only the Utility Manager and it's components can appear on the logon screen.
