My Vista started giving me the "Com Surrogate has stopped working" message when I installed an Sata Xpress PCI card that I installed so that I would be able to plug in my portable Sata hard drive. Started almost immediately. Does say it with each restart. It waits until it has been on for a while, maybe 30 minutes or so. When I close it, it does not return again for that session. Don't know what this means, nor have I tried to do anything to get rid of it. Everything seems to work okay otherwise but for the CS error message.

Com Surrogate

Yes, I had seen that and that is why I made my post. Mine started happening under different circumstances than what is listed there, so I thought I would add my experience. I don't really plan on trying to fix it unless it gets to be a real nagging problem. Lots of times the fixes give worse problems than the first problem.
